Introduction
Requirements for alternative and renewable power supplies give a strong argument to wind powered generators. These can be situated both off and on shore, facing strong climatic situations.
Frequently they are situated groups commonly known as “wind farm”. Due to the requirement for “wind” they are often positioned in harsh environmental areas.
The required increase for this type of machines is huge and in many countries, several of which are European. The main areas for growth are seen as coastal of North and Central Europe along with the Iberian and Balkan peninsula’s.
The continuous increasing demand for renewable energies leads Countries from all over the world to head efforts in developing wind farms, from Asia to South America, from North America to India.

 

Market today
In many instances today you will find gear pumps used on this application and their limits are as follows when working in the above mentioned environment:
§ Cavitate with highly viscous fluids and can pull dirt and water trough shaft seals.
§ High pulsation at output damages filter membrane.
§ Action of work hardening when passing dirt leads to more dirt particles being generated by the pump, giving a shorter filter and pump life.

SEIM screw pumps grant:
A. We use proper solution to eliminate problems in this are when working with viscous fluids;
B. Thermal change problems are overcome è with the use , where possible, the same material for pump bodies and screws;
C. SEIM machine their own screws thus controlling quality. è This in turn controls noise levels and allows us to vary screw design for example to work with entrapped air;
D. Screws are hydrostatically balanced along with the pump body. è So there is no pollutant manufacture giving longer pump and filter life;
E. Reduced service costs.

The pump SERIES PXF is available in a wide displacement range.
It can also have a built in relief valve thus eliminating pipework. This valve has external adjustment, possible even with pump operating and without the need to disassemble the unit.

PXF Series pump are available for the specific application on wind generators, featuring:

- Axial or radial inlet flange, BSP threaded or SAE-3000

- Specific execution suitable for high viscosity media

- Execution for very high amount of emulsified air in oil

- Built-in relief valve (OPTIONAL)

- ¼” BSP threaded hole on IN/OUT port, for pressure gauge connection (OPTIONAL)

- Pump cleaning after factory test / before delivery for preservation of the whole lubrication and filtering system cleanliness (OPTIONAL)
